Message from Capt. Chris Woon, Ingleside SFPD Commander

 On Sunday, May 25, 2020 at approximately 8:15 AM, San Francisco Police officers from Ingleside Station responded to the unit block of Elk Street in regards to an assault.  Upon arrival officers found the victim, a 94 year-old male, suffering from a head injury.  The victim was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.  
 
Officers on scene broadcast the suspect description via their police radio.  Two SFPD sergeants were patrolling the area of Diamond and Bosworth Streets when they observed a male subject matching the description provided by officers at the scene.  The sergeants detained the suspect without incident.  The suspect has been identified as 53 year-old Peter Rocha of San Francisco.  Rocha was booked at San Francisco County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse.
