Since 2016, the Glen Park News, a long time quarterly independent newsletter for neighborhoods bordering Glen Canyon Park, has included a column entitled News from Diamond Heights. I was honored to be asked to write the column and have enjoyed writing about events and projects in Diamond Heights for five years.
The current fall edition includes the regular columns: News from City Hall by Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, Glen Park Association update, Evelyn Rose’s Histories of Our Neighborhoods, Glen Park Real Estate and articles about people involved in work and volunteer activities in Glen Park.
The current column News from Diamond Heights includes progress on the construction at Christopher Park, an update on the Diamond Heights Blvd. Median Project and an overview of Urban Angels of San Francisco. Urban Angels was founded in 2015 by Nelson Barry and is located in his law office in the Diamond Heights Shopping Center. The nonprofit has increased its services and donations to help unhoused people in the time of COVID. Urban Angels has opportunities to volunteer right in our neighborhood.
