Postponed: Resilient Diamond Heights (RDH) Meeting July 25, 5:00 pm and How to sign up for SFAlert
RDH has rescheduled the meeting to Thursday, September 19 at 5:00 pm at St. Aidan’s Church.
Agenda items will include discussion of solar power stations and activation of a Heat Relief Center at St. Aidan’s if temperatures exceed 85 degrees three days in a row or two days of 90 degrees and above. Dinner is planned. For information, please reply or contact Betsy Eddy at dhcasf@gmail.com.
Reminder for Local Alerts: How to sign up for SFAlert
The City/County of San Francisco maintains a free system (called AlertSF) to let you know of any local emergencies such as police activity or large fires. Once you subscribe from your phone you will receive occasional text messages to let you avoid affected areas. To subscribe:
- Start a new text messages to the number 888777 (You may also register at www.alertsf.org)
- Enter the zip code of the area from which you want to receive alerts in the message area of this new text
- Send the text
In a few minutes you will receive a message that you have subscribed. If you want to track more than one area (such as your home and your business location) you may repeat this process for as many zip codes as you want.
