Help Urban Angels Provide School Supplies for Unhoused Children and Others
Here is a message from Nelson Barry, Urban Angels founder. Nelson’s Urban Angels office is in the Diamond Heights Shopping Center where Nelson has continued good works to help people for many years.
| Giving A Backpack Gives A FutureOur 6th annual School Supplies & Backpack campaign has just begun. Thank you to the generous donors who have given already! Between now and August 1st, we hope to raise $30,000 so 1,000 homeless children and others from families living at or below the poverty level can start the school year this August with confidence after receiving a brand new, high-quality backpack filled with new school supplies from Urban Angels SF. Studies show that when kids have new school supplies of their own, their:Grades, classroom behavior, and engagement improve.Self-esteem increases. Attitudes toward school and learning strengthen.Next week, we plan to share our campaign progress, so please donate this week to help the campaign momentum and inspire more donors to give, too. When we hit the goal, every single child out of the 1,000 children who are awaiting backpacks will be able to have their wish fulfilled.Supporting the education of under-served children lifts them up and puts them on the road to better lives!$3000 will help 100 under-served SF students$1000 = 1 classroom of children$500 = 17 children$100 = 3 children in great need$30 = One child Donate Today To Help The Children! |
