Volunteer to redo a median in Diamond Heights June 7!

In Diamond Heights
Public Works is going to replant the Diamond Heights Blvd. median from Berkeley Way to Diamond (at downhill to Noe Valley)! On June 7th, volunteers led by Public Works will dig out plants on the median. Some removed plants will be installed across from the Diamond Heights Shopping Center.

Public Works will provide lane closure on both sides of Diamond Heights Blvd.

Schedule:

8:30 Registration: Meet at James Lick Middle School Yard, 4161-25th St.
After Kickoff event with city officials, go to Diamond Heights Blvd. at Addison/Gold Mine at Walter Haas Park Dog Play Area
12 Noon: Return to James Lick Middle School to receive a free box lunch.

Notes for the workday:

  • No gardening experience required
  • Tools and safety jackets will be provided
  • Bathrooms will be available
  • Wear heavy shoes or work boots
  • Bring water 
  • Recommended for ages 12 and above because of the traffic on the boulevard.
  • Digging will be hard work with shovels 

  • This is a terrific opportunity to redo medians that are scraggily and unkept due to cars that ran over plants in 3 places. Thank you, Public Works!
