Power During Emergencies
Resilient Diamond Heights (RDH) owns several solar power stations to allow our neighborhood support center or the NERT staging area to have light at night and the ability to recharge two-way radios or cell phones during extended power outages.

You may have seen advertisements for “Solar Generators” to provide electricity during power outages or at remote locations, such as camping or construction sites. These devices are not really “generators” as they do not create power. They are battery packs that store energy with added solar panels that allow recharging during sunny days.

We will be covering the details of power stations at the next RDH training event the evening of September 19. This information is useful if you become an RDH volunteer or if you are considering a power system for your home. We hope you can attend.

Activating a Heat Relief Center at St. Aidan’s Church
We will present a summary of activating a Heat Relief Center at St. Aidan’s if temperatures exceed 85 degrees three days in a row or two days of 90 degrees and above.

We hope to have better lighting for the slide screen on September 19th.
